How it works

Classic account:
If your uninvested cash (Net Free Equity) in the specific currency is above the equivalent of EUR 10,000, you will receive a variable interest rate. The more you deposit, the higher the interest rate applied.  Please use the calculator or formula to check the interest rate for the specific currency and Net Free Equity.

VIP and Platinum account:
Your interest rate is the same regardless of the amount of uninvested cash, and there is no threshold. We calculate your interest rate based on Saxo Bid rate minus a markdown (-1 b.p. for VIP and -2 b.p for Platinum).

If you do not hold any margin positions, then your Net Free Equity is equal to your cash balance. For full Net Free Equity definition & conditions, please click here.
You can find an overview of the daily interest you have earned in the platform. Navigate to main Menu > Download report > Account Interest Details. Here you can see applied interest rates and amounts credited to your account for different periods.
If you have a negative net free equity, you pay negative interest based on relevant central bank rates. For more information, click here.
To calculate the interest rate for the Classic account tier manually, see the formulas below:

Net Free Equity (NFE) is between EUR 10,000 and EUR 50,000
