Saxo Australia launches SaxoSelect, bringing managed portfolios from top wealth professionals to Australian investors
Saxo Australia, the online trading and investment specialist, today announces the launch of SaxoSelect, a fully digital and automated investment service that lets investors have their money managed by global investment management experts based on their preferred investment style.
“In recent years the appetite for alternative wealth strategies has grown in line with improved access to global capital markets and innovations in technology. More Australians than ever are looking to build diversified portfolios across geographies, and as such are using digital platforms to take control of their financial future – whether that’s through directly investing their savings or establishing their own SMSF,” Adam Smith, CEO of Saxo Australia, comments.
“Access to world-leading managed portfolios and international diversification, alongside total transparency and control, is something we believe that more investors need and what Saxo is here to offer. SaxoSelect is about truly expert wealth management at a much more affordable price. We have already seen significant interest in the service during the soft launch phase, and we believe we can enable more Australians to take control of their financial future and make more from their money,” Smith adds.
Have your money managed by experts
SaxoSelect offers investors access to international managed portfolios, via global asset managers Blackrock, Brown Advisory, MorningStar, Nasdaq and MacroFX.
This type of discretionary portfolio management is a service typically only offered to private banking clients .
With a minimum investment of US$10,000, SaxoSelect offers a bespoke asset management service to a broader range of investors.
Investors benefit from full transparency and control; with real-time execution and live portfolio information coupled with the ability to withdraw at any time for no extra cost. There are no platform fees, entry, exit or custody fees, with average pricing across the portfolios sitting at 0.95%.
Wealth creation based on your investment style
The launch comes as many Australians feel priced out of the traditional wealth management market given the rising cost of financial advice. Alternative pathways are on the rise with the volume of SMSF accounts up 4 per cent YoY as of June 2022.
A variety of investment styles are catered to by eight portfolios, each of which capitalises on opportunities across multiple asset classes.
Examples of the managed portfolios offered include:
• Blackrock’s Defensive USD portfolio for those focused on capital preservation, which is ideal for investing cautiously, and offers high exposure to bond markets.
• Brown Advisory’s Ethical Selection is for the more growth focused investor, ideal for investing for growth, buying stocks with strong focus on sustainability.
• Saxo MorningStar MOAT, offering a smart and cost-effective way to invest in a portfolio of 30 quality stocks that are undervalued by the market.
SaxoSelect has previously launched in Europe and Asia and is only available to Saxo account holders. While there is no minimum investment period and clients can exit at any time for free, it’s important to remember that these managed portfolios are designed for medium- to long-term investing and are best suited for clients with a longer term horizon.
